Broadcast Production

I produce, shoot and edit news content across television, student newsrooms and community organisations in Leeds and West Yorkshire. My work covers fast turnaround VTs for daily bulletins, longer features for charities and community groups and short form news for online platforms. I also produce radio bulletins and short form audio for community stations including Leeds Hospital Radio and ELCR ELFM.

I am confident operating current Sony PXW ENG cameras and Mobile Journalism kits and I can ingest and cut on Avid Media Composer either on location or in the edit suite. I understand newsroom workflows, file structures and delivery requirements and I work independently or alongside craft editors. I am comfortable taking a story from initial idea through sourcing, scripting, filming, editing and delivery and I thrive in time pressured broadcast environments where quick decisions matter.

I take a particular interest in audiences with additional access needs and I have experience adapting video content to be more accessible. This includes scripting choices, on-screen text, captions, subtitling and graphics that support clarity and make stories easier to follow for viewers who have visual or auditory access needs.
